The Painting Begins
Ariel establishes the main Maui wave composition in acrylic before and during the beginning of the activation.
Snapdragon Maui · September 21–24, 2026
One Wave. Hundreds of Participants.
One Original Artwork.
During the Snapdragon Maui arrival experience, approximately 500 to 600 guests each add a thumbprint directly to one large original painting.
Their marks become the whitecap, spray, barrel, light, and movement of a dramatic Maui wave - a living expression of individual contribution and collective strength.
A subtle visual relationship
The flame influences the wave’s shape and gesture, allowing the brand connection to emerge through the artwork rather than sit on top of it.

Guests participate immediately as they arrive. Ariel guides the experience and continuously integrates every contribution into the composition.

Each guest selects a curated ocean tone and adds one thumbprint to the artwork.
Hundreds of marks gradually create the foam, texture, light, movement, and volume of the wave.
Ariel paints around and between the contributions, preserving the individual marks within one cohesive artwork.

A story guests can carry forward
The large collaborative wave represents the group creating something together.
These optional keepsakes extend that story beyond the event, whether through a limited collection of original acrylic paintings, a framed or postcard-style original watercolor for every guest, or a printed edition of the collaborative wave itself.
A lasting original
The completed painting gives the story of partnership a physical presence that can continue long after the Maui program.
